Solar mounting systems contain long aluminum rails, clamps, bolts and various support fittings. These components are often packed in sets or batches, resulting in cartons that are long, heavy and subject to concentrated loads during transportation. Producing these packages consistently requires folding and gluing equipment capable of handling thick corrugated board while maintaining accurate folds and strong glued joints.
Conventional Machine Limits in Heavy-Load Carton Production
Solar mounting hardware creates different packaging requirements from ordinary consumer products. Long aluminum rails need extended cartons, while clamps, brackets and metal fasteners add considerable weight within a relatively small packing area. Much of this load is transferred to the carton bottom and glued joints during handling and transportation. Double-wall corrugated board or reinforced board structures are therefore commonly used.
Thick corrugated board is more difficult to fold because its crease lines have greater resistance and tend to spring back. On conventional machines with fixed folding speeds, the board may not fold progressively enough, resulting in incomplete corners, excessive crease stress or cracking. These problems can affect carton shape and reduce stacking stability.
Splicing presents another challenge. A two-piece carton depends on accurate alignment between its two folded sections. If positioning is inconsistent, the finished carton may have uneven edges or an out-of-square structure. Fixed pressing pressure also makes it difficult to accommodate different board grades and carton weights. Insufficient pressure can weaken the glued joint, while excessive pressure may mark or deform the board.
Machine rigidity is equally important during continuous production. Lightweight frames and ordinary bearings may experience increased vibration and wear when handling long, heavy blanks. As guide alignment gradually changes, operators may need repeated adjustments and manual corrections, affecting production efficiency and consistency.

Two-Piece Folding and Gluing Machine for Solar Hardware Cartons
Our two-piece folding and gluing machine handles large corrugated blanks through coordinated feeding, folding, splicing and pressing operations. Each section addresses a specific challenge in solar mounting hardware packaging.
Stable feeding and folding for long rail cartons
Long cartons for aluminum mounting rails require stable sheet feeding. If a large blank shifts during entry, the deviation can affect subsequent folding and splicing accuracy.
Our friction feeder uses an independent servo motor, with adjustable side guides for different sheet widths and a retractable rear support to stabilize longer blanks. These features help maintain sheet positioning before the board enters the folding section.
An independent motor drives the second fold and the 180-degree fourth fold. The left and right folding belts feature stepless speed adjustment, with an optional servo configuration available. This allows folding speeds to be matched to the board and carton format. For thick double-wall board, progressive folding helps reduce unnecessary stress on crease lines and maintain panel alignment.
Accurate splicing and pressure control for hardware cartons
Clamps, brackets and fasteners are relatively compact but can add substantial weight to a finished package. Their cartons therefore require properly aligned joints and suitable bonding conditions.
At the splicing section, electrically adjusted guide plates with memory settings allow operators to recall stored carton formats. Independent servo-driven flat belt conveyors move the two folded pieces forward, while pressing units keep the board flat. Servo-controlled material stops regulate positioning, and a photoelectric device checks the board position before the pieces are joined.
At the splicing mouth, hot-melt and cold glue application systems provide the required bonding process. The downstream conveyor supports automatic or manual length adjustment, with adjustable upper pressure and optional pneumatic pressure regulation. Operators can adapt pressing conditions to different board strengths, whether processing lighter clamp cartons or heavier boxes containing multiple metal accessories.
Flexible format changes for mixed production orders
A solar packaging factory may produce long rail cartons, medium-sized clamp boxes and smaller cartons for connecting plates or fasteners. Frequent changes in carton dimensions can increase setup time when guide positions must be adjusted manually for every order.
Our machine combines adjustable guide plates, memory settings and independently driven sections to support different carton formats. Stored positioning settings help operators return to previous production specifications, while the upper and lower pallets in the motor-driven patting section can be repositioned according to carton length. This helps align finished cartons during collection.
These functions support production lines handling both repeated large orders and smaller batches of different solar mounting accessories, reducing unnecessary setup work between carton formats.
Our Folding and Gluing Machine for Solar Packaging
Long aluminum rails and concentrated metal hardware loads make solar mounting cartons demanding applications for corrugated packaging production. Stable feeding, controlled folding, accurate splicing and suitable pressing conditions all contribute to carton shape and bonding performance.
Our two-piece folding and gluing machine integrates these processes for large-format and heavy-board applications. We manufacture and assemble the equipment in-house, combining a rigid structure, precision guiding components and independently driven sections. Components from established international suppliers also support routine maintenance and replacement planning.
