A finished bicycle ships in one of the longest and narrowest cartons in consumer packaging. The box is usually made from double-wall corrugated board, often with double overlapping flaps and handle holes. It must hold its shape under the weight of a full frame, wheels and accessories, and electric models add further mass. Producing these cartons consistently depends largely on how well the folding and gluing equipment handles oversized, stiff board.
Conventional Machine Limits in Bicycle Carton Production
A two-piece folding and gluing machine forms a large carton from two corrugated pieces. Each piece is fed and glued, then folded, and the two folded pieces are spliced into one carton and pressed. Many conventional machines were designed around smaller, lighter cartons, and their limits become visible at bicycle size. Feeders without independent drive or adequate rear support let long blanks drift sideways, so the carton leaves the machine out of square. Folding belts that run at a fixed speed, or share one drive with other sections, give stiff double-wall board little room to fold progressively. The board then springs back at the creases, and scores may crack. Conveying sections that apply fixed pressure cannot suit both a lighter children's carton and a heavy e-bike carton, so the seam is either pressed too lightly or marked by excess force. Splicing often depends on manual alignment with no stored settings and no photoelectric check, which makes each format change slow and leaves squareness to the operator's judgement. Lighter frames and entry-level bearings or guide rails add to the problem, because they flex and wear under long, heavy blanks, and alignment slowly loosens over a shift. Plants running these machines usually compensate with manual correction and frequent re-adjustment, which slows output and adds variation between batches.
Heavy-Duty Components for Large-Format Stability
Large-format work exposes weaknesses in a machine's structure before it exposes them in the control system, so the frame comes first. Our two-piece folding and gluing machine is built on thick wall panels that have been cold and heat treated, which helps limit vibration and flex during continuous running. HIWIN linear guides and NSK bearings keep the adjustable guide plates and moving assemblies aligned after repeated size changes. That matters when a plant alternates between several long carton formats. Delta servo motors and PLC control drive the independent sections, so feeding, folding and conveying speeds can be matched to one another instead of depending on a single shared drive. Pneumatic parts, contactors and photoelectric switches come from recognised international suppliers, which simplifies sourcing replacements over the life of the machine. None of these choices is unusual in isolation. Their value lies in the combination: a rigid structure, accurate guidance and independent drives give the process a steady base when the board is heavy and the blank is long.

Feeding, Folding and Splicing Oversized Board
Long bicycle and e-bike cartons require stable feeding and accurate folding, especially when processing stiff double-wall corrugated board. Our machine uses a servo-driven friction feeder, adjustable side guides and a retractable rear support to handle different sheet widths and longer blanks.
Mechanical rollers apply hot-melt or cold glue, with an optional spray glue system available for specific applications. In the folding section, an independent motor drives the second and 180-degree fourth folds. The left and right belts feature stepless speed adjustment, with an optional servo configuration to coordinate folding speed and reduce stress on the board creases. Motor-driven upper and lower pallets in the patting section adjust to different carton lengths, helping keep finished cartons neatly aligned.
Accurate positioning during splicing is essential for maintaining carton squareness. Our machine uses electrically adjusted guide plates with memory settings, independent servo-driven conveyors and servo-controlled material stops. A photoelectric device checks board position before the two pieces are joined. At the splicing mouth, hot-melt and cold glue application systems help form a firm bond. The downstream conveyor supports automatic or manual length adjustment, with adjustable upper pressure and optional pneumatic regulation. These settings allow operators to match pressing conditions to different board strengths, from standard bicycle cartons to heavier e-bike packaging.
Production Flexibility for Different Bicycle Carton Formats
Bicycle manufacturers produce cartons for different models, from children's bikes and folding bikes to full-size mountain bikes and electric bicycles. These products require different carton lengths, board strengths and structural designs. Our two-piece folding and gluing machine uses adjustable guide plates, memory settings and independently driven sections to simplify format changes and accommodate different production requirements. The machine can also be configured around the customer's carton drawings and board specifications, making it suitable for both standard bicycle packaging and larger, heavier e-bike cartons. For factories handling frequent order changes, this flexibility helps reduce setup work while maintaining consistent folding and splicing quality.
A Two-Piece Folding and Gluing Machine for Heavy Bicycle Cartons
Long bicycle cartons and heavy e-bike packaging require more than basic folding and gluing. Stable feeding, controlled folding and accurate two-piece splicing all contribute to the strength and squareness of the finished carton. Our two-piece folding and gluing machine integrates independently driven sections, adjustable pressing systems and servo-controlled splicing to handle these large-format requirements. Built for corrugated packaging production, it can be configured to match different carton dimensions, board grades and output needs. We manufacture and assemble the equipment in-house, allowing our engineers to work directly with customers on machine configuration.
